There’s no need to buy a separate marriage book, workbook, and leader’s guide. Each book includes all three.
Each book is interactive, prompting couples to answer “Personal Application” questions and make plans to change. Plus, as couples study, they discover how to turn to the Bible for practical life-giving truths.
Small groups can study one or more books, or they can go through all eight. Although they are written as a series, each book stands by itself. Most groups start with Laying a Solid Foundation (the first book in the series), but some groups start in the middle of the series. For example, some start with Talking with Respect and Love (the fifth book in the series), then go on to read the remaining seven books
Mentors often use Laying a Solid Foundation as their key resource. They also discuss the chapter on praying together as a couple in Making Christ the Cornerstone (the second book in the series). As needed, they refer to chapters from other books in the series.
Ensure consistency and “messaging” within your ministry. Using “Marriage by the Book” as your core curriculum will keep all the members of your team—group leaders, counselors, and mentors—on the same page.
